10. Ben Mendelsohn (Robin Hood)

The recent attempt at a "gritty" Robin Hood reboot may have fallen almost completely flat, but the one guy truly earning his hopefully fat paycheck? Ben Mendelsohn.

In recent years the Aussie actor has found himself regularly cast in blockbuster movies as the requisite scenery-devouring antagonist - most notably The Dark Knight Rises, Rogue One and Ready Player One - yet nothing quite matches the hammy heights of his work as the Sheriff of Nottingham in Robin Hood.

Mendelsohn seems acutely aware that he's starring in a dud for a fun payday and just has a laugh with it, mugging wildly and over-acting every single scene for the cheap seats.

Wretched though the film is, just try not to laugh when the Sheriff tells Robin (played by an oddly dull Taron Egerton), "I will boil you in your own piss!" If only the rest of the film were as fun as Mendelsohn's cartoonish, go-for-broke performance.
