10 Best Performances In 2018's Worst Movies
4. Maya Rudolph (Life Of The Party)

Maya Rudolph is without question one of the coolest people in Hollywood. In addition to being married to Paul Thomas Anderson, she has a handy habit of showing up in otherwise atrocious comedies and serving up the only worthwhile content.
That's certainly the case with this past summer's Melissa McCarthy vehicle Life of the Party, where Rudolph plays Deanna's (McCarthy) best friend Christine.
Christine is effectively Deanna's counsellor throughout the movie, and as such Rudolph gets a decent amount of screen time to riff off McCarthy.
Whether or not the results are improvised, her one-liners are howlingly funny, and her mere presence alone elevates several otherwise misfiring scenes.
A delightfully cringe-worthy dinner sequence in particular allows Rudolph to fully let loose, and it's enough to make you wish Hollywood would just give her a damn lead role already.
