Returning to the western genre for the second time in as many feature films, Quentin Tarantino gave us The Hateful Eight in December of 2015 - a bloody tale of mistrust and uneasy alliances.

One such character, Daisy Domergue, is the most flagrantly destructive and supremely plotting character Tarantino has ever written. Her appalling attitude is the driving force of the entire film, so the actress chosen to take on such a colossal task had to be a good one.

Enter Jennifer Jason Leigh.

Leigh slays the role of Daisy, easily out-acting her male peers throughout. Domergue is a fugitive, being transported to the unseen town of Red Rock by John Ruth, 'The Hangman', and it's clear to see Leigh revels in the dramatic nature of Daisy's character, enjoying every moment.

Tarantino likened Daisy's character to Susan Atkins, an instrumental participant in the Manson Family murders (a role later given to Mikey Madison in Tarantino's follow-up feature, Once Upon a Time in Hollywood), so the psychotic nature of Domergue's character was intentional, and wonderfully upheld by Leigh's memorable performance.

Picking up both a Golden Globe and Academy Award nomination, suffice to say this is undoubtedly Jennifer Jason Leigh's best performance to date.
