10 Best Psychological Horrors Of The Modern Era
1. Flatliners
Based on the 1990 movie of the same name, the new reboot of Flatliners was released in 2017, following a group of medical students who aim to see what occurs after death. Stupidly, they each take it in turns to stop their own hearts, and then be brought back to life again, where Death awaits to hunt them down.
It's plot is not too dissimilar to that of the classic Final Destination movies, as each person thinks that their life has changed for the better as they cheated the inevitable. As with most of these films, they all have a complicated back story that they are trying to keep from each other, which the Grim Reaper plays on to create some undeniably scary moments in the climax.
If you've seen the original, you're in for just as much as a ride in this version, with even more horror waiting for the students who made it happen to themselves. There are some hide-behind-your-pillow moments for sure, with a thriller mystery tale woven within, as the characters try to keep themselves alive. Don't try this at home.
