10 Best Robin Williams Performances Of All Time

9. Daniel Hillard/Mrs. Doubtfire - Mrs Doubtfire (1993)

Robin Williams Good Morning Vietnam
Fox

No live-action movie role better utilises Robin Williams' unique brand of motor-mouthed comedy than the classic family flick Mrs Doubtfire.

A long-time fan-favourite, Mrs Doubtfire finds Williams playing family patriarch Daniel Hillard, who's just been left by his wife (Sally Field) and without custody of his kids. Desperate to be a part of their lives, he disguises himself as British nanny Mrs Doubtfire and spends his days caring for his kids under elaborate make-up.

Mrs Doubtfire offers Williams the chance to play two equally thrilling roles in one. On the one hand, he pulls off the quiet tragedy of Daniel, a man with tons of talent but terrible luck; and on the other, he plays the eccentric nanny, who makes the lives of Daniel's wife and kids better simply by being around.

With its madcap premise and heaps of heart, Mrs Doubtfire is one of Williams' most beloved films, and his performance in the title role is nothing short of timeless in its hilarity and charm.
