10 Best Ryan Reynolds Performances

8. Michael "Berg" Bergen - Two Guys And A Girl (1998-2001)

It would be impossible to talk about brilliant performances without mentioning Ryan Reynolds' break-out role in the sitcom Two Guys and a Girl. The show itself is very simple in its execution and doesn't really do anything new as far as sitcoms go, but there is one major standout, and that's Reynolds' performance as Berg.

Initially, Berg was the sarcastic, witty sidekick to series protagonist Peter Dunville (Richard Ruccolo), but in time it became clear that Berg was the true star of the show thanks to Reynolds' performance. Though only 22 at the time of the first season, it's clear that the actor was always destined to be something bigger.

All of the typical Reynolds' trademarks are here - he's funny, fast-talking, brutally honest and adventurous, often getting himself and his friends into trouble. But underneath the bravado and wit, there is a certain level of sensitivity and complexity which makes Berg much more than the sarcastic best friend, but a true series lead and the anchor of the show.

If you haven't seen Two Guys and a Girl, it's worth checking out for a bit of light fun, and to see where Reynolds started out.
