10 Best Ryan Reynolds Performances

Further proof that Reynolds loves to play characters called Michael, The Hitman's Bodyguard sees him take on the role of the titular bodyguard, Michael Bryce. It's one of his more recent roles, fresh off the mega-success that was Deadpool, and sees Reynolds firing on all cylinders. Sharing the screen with the likes of Samuel L. Jackson, Salma Hayek and Gary Oldman, it's a testament to the actor's comedic talents that he manages to give the best performance in the film.

In the action-comedy, Bryce is tasked with protecting Darius Kincaid (Jackson), a hitman who needs to testify against a war criminal (Oldman). Reynolds and Jackson work off of one another brilliantly, with Reynolds on particularly witty and hilariously cynical form.

On top of continuing his work as one of Hollywood's funniest stars, the film also shows off his action chops, allowing him to once more try his hand at being at an action star. Reynolds succeeds on both counts, offering up some of the film's funniest lines and pulling off it's most striking action sequences. A sequel is set to be released soon, with Reynolds returning to the role and stealing the show once more.
