10 Best Scenes When Movie Characters Turned Evil

4. Carrie White - Carrie

In the first film adaptation of a Steven King first novel, Sissy Spacek played Carrie White, a 16-year-old girl who undergoes hell at home and at school. The girl is constantly mocked and teased by her classmates while her mother's fanaticism terrorized her at home.

Unbeknownst to Carrie and the audience, she possesses psychokinetic powers, but they don't manifest until the end of the story when she is at the prom where she finds acceptance among her peers. The class crowns Carrie as Prom Queen, but it was all a cruel ruse to further humiliate the girl.

Just as she's enjoying the adulation of her peers, one of her tormenters pulls a rope, spilling pig's blood all over her. It's at this moment Carrie transitions into an evil person, though it could be argued, she only acted in self-defense following a psychotic break.

Her powers manifest with her rage, and she causes the doors to slam shut, she makes a firehose assault the crowd, and she electrocutes the principal. This is followed by more electrocutions, some crushing deaths, and the gym catching on fire, killing almost everyone inside. Later, Carrie returns home to her mother, who reveals she was the result of a rape and comforts her before stabbing her in the back.

Carrie then causes all of the knives in the home to stab her mother into a crucifixion pose, and then she loses all control of her powers, incinerates the house, and kills herself.
