10 Best Scenes When Movie Characters Turned Evil

3. Saruman - The Lord Of The Rings: The Two Towers

There is more than one scene depicting the fall of Saruman the White in The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring & The Two Towers. His fall could have been the moment he chose to use the Palantir to spy on Sauron, or it could have been when he turned against Gandalf, but there's one scene more powerful than those two.

When Saruman created an army of evil orcs and sent them to destroy the trees of Westfold, he embraced evil and could no longer be called Saruman the White. Saruman turned against the land, which was truly the point of no return for this once good and decent character.

Saruman narrated the scene depicting his fall, in which he said, "The old world will burn in the fires of industry. The forests will fall. A new order will rise. We will drive the machine of war with the sword and the spear and the iron fist of the Orc. We have only to remove those who oppose us."

Saruman's fall came as his quest for power rose. He wanted to challenge the might of Sauron, which required a rival army. The orcs he created were an affront to nature, and the devastation they caused in the forest of Westfold brought down the might of mother nature herself in the form of Ents, who destroyed Isengard at the behest of Pippin and Merry.
