10 Best Stephen King Cameos
8. Minister - Pet Sematary
This nasty piece of work from Stephen King's most disturbing novel is honestly one of the best adaptations of his work so far.
The Creed family quickly find out that dead is most certainly better when their cat and toddler are resurrected into violent beings out for blood in this haunting and ghoulish classic. King himself has admitted to finding the novel too horrible to enjoy, which should tell us something about what to expect.
After Gage Creed is run over by a truck just outside of the family home, we see the service being held for the poor boy. King is the one laying him to rest as the family is overcome by grief. Of course, the boy's father Louis later digs the body up and gets everyone killed as a consequence. Proving that when Stephen King himself lays you to rest, it is better to not be dug back up.
There is something fitting about the author to such a cruel and mean-spirited story being the centrepiece to such a morbid scene - a toddler is being buried after all. If it was anyone else playing the role the scene would not feel as effective as it does. With it being the creator of the story, going against him adds more to the perverse nature of the father's actions.
There was of course a remake of this film and a sequel, neither featuring a King cameo. That too should tell us what to expect.
