4. Wonder Woman
After the tepid response to Man of Steel and Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, Wonder Woman was just what the DC Extended Universe needed back in 2017. Proving that female-led superhero movies can indeed work, Gal Gadot blew everyone away with her take on the Amazon Warrior, and Patty Jenkins delivered a rock solid origin story for the iconic DC Comics character.
Topping Thor: Ragnarok with a 113.08% score, the Critics Consensus for the movie says, "Thrilling, earnest, and buoyed by Gal Gadot's charismatic performance, Wonder Woman succeeds in spectacular fashion."
When Gadot was cast as Diana Prince, most fans turned their nose up at the idea one of the stars of Fast & Furious was playing Wonder Woman. Batman v Superman didn't really give her chance to shine, but the actress proved everyone wrong. Throw in a great co-star in Chris Pine, and there was an awful lot of love about Wonder Woman.
In terms of action, Jenkins proved herself as a blockbuster filmmaker, and that "No Man's Land" sequence remains one of the most memorable from any superhero movie.
