10 Best Vampire Movies Of The 2000s

6. 30 Days Of Night (2007)

Blade 2
Columbia Pictures

Based on the comic book series of the same name by Steve Niles, who would go on to pen the film's screenplay, 30 Days of Night has become quintessential vampire movie viewing since its release.

A claustrophobic and stylishly blood-soaked horror, the film takes place in a town in Alaska, which experiences complete darkness for a month every year. This year, a group of vicious and hungry vampires have descended upon the town, causing the locals to come together in hopes of surviving the endless night.

Creepy and deeply unsettling thanks to the performance of Danny Huston as the lead vampire, Josh Harnett and Melissa George take centre stage with the film and prove to be the vampires' biggest adversaries.

With its focus on a town cut off from the world, the scope of the set is also very impressive and the tension of the locals' isolation is palpable with every scene and every grisly death.

Moody, dark and quick, 30 Days of Night is the definitely one of the best vampire movies of the decade.
