10 Best Villain Death Scenes In MCU History
6. Gorr The God Butcher
As much of a disappointment as Thor: Love and Thunder was, the fourth instalment in the franchise was at least able to boast a strong villain. Christian Bale’s Gorr the God Butcher was easily the best thing about the movie, from start to finish.
The first two minutes of Taika Waititi’s second MCU effort were harrowing, as Gorr’s innocent young daughter died. Audiences were shellshocked, and when her father found out that his god did exist and that he outwardly laughed at what had happened, he swore revenge on all gods.
This was great motivation because everyone, especially parents, could understand it. Though the story of his journey to Eternity to use his one wish to rid the universe of gods could have been fleshed out a bit more, it brought the movie to an incredibly emotional conclusion.
With what was Gorr’s final act, he was convinced by Thor to instead use his one wish to bring back his daughter. Without the power of the Necrosword, Gorr died, but he made it so that his daughter was able to live in the care of the God of Thunder even though he himself was gone.
