8. The Dyatlov Pass Incident

Wind Chill Emily Blunt
Anchor Bay Entertainment UK

The Dyatlov Pass Incident (also known as Devil's Pass) is a psychological horror that was released in 2013. Written by Vicram Weet and directed by Renny Harlin, the production stars Holly Goss, Matt Stokoe and Ryan Hawley as a group of travelers who are traversing the tough landscapes of Russia - which ends with horrific results.

The Dyatlov Pass Incident is actually based on true events in which a team of nine students ended up dying under mysterious circumstances as they climbed the Ural Mountains in February of 1959. The events surrounding the gory deaths on the mountain have made many theories, headlines, books and documentaries over the years, so it's not hard to see why a movie was eventually produced which explores the themes of the historical events said to have occurred.

As expected, the cold, harsh weather that the group of hikers experience makes for a large part of the story in The Dyatlov Pass Incident/Devil's Pass. The film is exceptionally unsettling. Although the release was met with mixed reviews, it's definitely a flick worth watching.
