10 Best Winter Themed Horror Films

4. Cold Prey

Wind Chill Emily Blunt
Anchor Bay

Cold Prey is a 2006 Norwegian horror directed by Roar Uthaug and written by Thomas Moldestad. The flick stars Rolf Kristian Larsen and Victoria Winge, and is a masterfully executed story in which a group of friends travel together on a snowboarding holiday.

You won't be surprised to know that the holiday does not go as planned. Skiing in a secluded area, the group of friends are enjoying themselves until one member of their party has a fall and breaks their leg. Needing help, the team of students make it to a nearby lodge in which they hope to find help and refuge. What they find, instead of solace, is a merciless, blood-thirsty killer who is out to track them down one by one.

The movie is violent, atmospheric and tense to the very end. In actual fact, it was one of the highest grossing films in Norway on its year of release and was met with positive reviews. If you fancy a ski trip yourself sometime, maybe check this freaky flick out first. You might want to stay indoors in the warm instead...
