The Movie: Die Hard In The White House (Version 1) In London. Could work? The sequel to Olympus Has Fallen hopes to turn to kitschy appeal of the first one into franchise material, bringing back Gerard Butler, Aaron Eckhart and Morgan Freeman in a plot that puts the UK capital in peril. Expect lots of CGI destruction. Original Release Date: 2nd October 2015 Second Release Date: 22nd January 2016 Final Release Date: 4th March 2016 Why Did It Change: The original movie was one of those filler releases that did a lot better than expected, and it's a bit optimistic to expect the sequel to be anything more. That was why the date shifted the first time - it had it in direct competition with The Martian, which would go on to be a major success. The second change was ostensibly to allow more time to get the special effects up to snuff, although given how populated this January is, you can imagine nobody at the studio's complaining about the wait.
