10 Big 2018 Movies You Should Be Worried About
2. Halloween (2018)
Reason To Be Worried: The project is spearheaded by two men known for their comedy work.
The Halloween franchise spans 39 years and 10 movies, but only one of those movies is commonly regarded as great - the 1978 original. That's surprising considering the sheer volume of entries released since then, and perhaps this indicates that the franchise is best left alone.
If legions of filmmakers can't produce anything that even remotely comes close to the original, what are the chances that next year's continuation will be the one that breaks this decades-old curse?
Plus, the men tasked with directing and writing the movie - David Gordon Green and Danny McBride, respectively - aren't exactly the first names you'd think of when you look at Michael Myers' creepy, pale-white face.
Gordon Green is known for horror masterpieces such as... Your Highness, Pineapple Express, and The Sitter, with the former two featuring McBride in a leading role.
Those two aside, McBride has appeared in This Is The End, Sausage Party, Due Date and Land Of The Lost, and is known, like Gordon Green, for his comedy work.
Will this pair bring a lighter tone to Halloween? Or are they attempting to make it a full-on horror? They lack the experience to pull off the latter and the former would be a huge mistake, so either way, there's plenty of reason to doubt this tenth sequel.
