6. John Travolta, Carrie
A horror film based on the eerie work of Stephen King is always going to have its foundations set in success. There are many implications along the road that can change this factor, though Carrie is one of the few that doesn't falter. Carrie, a high school introvert, is forever tormented and abused by her fellow peers and her fundamentalist mother. However, this doesn't prove to be a problem when she discovers she has a form of telekinetic power that is triggered by her anger. In true King style, this power paves the way for a story of supernatural death and chaos. Travolta's role in this bloodbath comes in the form of Billy Nolan, a boy who stops at seemingly nothing to humiliate and even harm Carrie. Never one to shy away from playing the bastard, Travolta churns out yet another credible performance which ultimately ends when Carrie reverses his attempt to run her over. There isn't a person alive who has seen this film that didn't cheer and fist pump at the death of Travolta; a testament to his portrayal.
