5. Will Mar-Vell Die Or Turn Evil?

We catch only the briefest of glimpses of Walter Larson aka Mar-Vell (Jude Law) in the teaser trailer, seeming to suggest that Carol Danvers' mentor likely won't have a particularly big part in the film...unless his presence is being downplayed for sneaky reasons.

It's near-enough guaranteed that one of two things will happen to Mar-Vell during the movie: he'll either be killed and give Carol the inspiration to keep fighting, or he'll turn out to be a secret villain working with the Skrulls, possibly even having his identity assumed by a member of the shape-shifting alien race. The above image from the trailer certainly seems to imply him encountering something untoward, anyway.

You don't hire an actor of Law's repute just to give him a three-minute cameo as Carol's mentor, so clearly something huge will happen with him at some point. If he makes it through the movie in one piece and hasn't defected, though, it'd be a huge shocker.
