10 Big Questions From Venom's New Trailer
8. What's Up With The Location Shots?
As Carlton Drake delivers his monologue about the world being on the brink, viewers are shown several exterior location shots to illustrate this point.
Among these is a shot of San Francisco, which is where the film predominantly takes place, as has been firmly established by the multitude of Golden Gate Bridge shots in all of the trailers. But there's also shots of the London skyline and a view of the planet from outer space.
While it certainly isn't beyond Sony to just slot stock shots like this into their trailers (they've done it very noticeably before), let's give them the benefit of the doubt and say they've learned their lesson. Does this mean that the film's action will be traveling to London?
As for the shot from space, is this indicating that we may get to see more of the symbiote's crash from space than initially anticipated? The shot does notably careen around the globe and get a bit closer, so it's possible that this shot is actually the shot in which viewers will follow a symbiote-infected spaceship down to the planet's surface.
