10 Big Questions From Venom's New Trailer
2. Will THAT Shot Actually Be In The Movie?
The final bit of the trailer sees Venom musing on what order he's going to eat a man in, telling him he'll wind up being a 'turd in the wind'.
Then, when the man asks, 'What the hell are you?', Venom responds by shedding half of his face, revealing the Eddie Brock face underneath and saying, 'We are Venom'.
It's a neat-if-unfinished visual that has all sorts of ties back to classic Venom comics imagery visually showing the dichotomy between Brock and Venom. It even serves as a bit of a nod to Spider-Man: Homecoming, which also prominently featured a moment in which half of Spider-Man's mask and half of Peter Parker's face were put onscreen together.
But will this shot actually be in the movie?
It seems a bit strange that Venom would reveal Brock's face to a random thug he's about to eat just because he asked who he is. Often in the comics, Venom sees Brock as little more than a vessel and from what's been seen in the trailers so far, the film looks to be taking the same route. Which in turn only makes it more strange that Venom would give credit to his host.
Good money is on this just being a shot altered specifically for the trailer.
