10 Biggest Characters The MCU Hasn't Used Yet

5. Silver Surfer

Doctor Doom
Marvel Comics

Until recently, Marvel Studios could not use a plethora of some of their most popular characters, due to the rights being owned by other companies. 20th Century Fox had owned a significant number of fan favourite heroes and villains, like the X-Men and the Fantastic Four. However, with Disney's purchase of Fox in 2019, Marvel now had access to these characters, with the Silver Surfer being amongst the roster.

Debuting in the 1966 comic, Fantastic Four #48, the Silver Surfer was a servant to the dreaded villain, Galactus, whose mission was to find planets for his master to consume. After he rebelled against his master when Galactus attempted to eat Earth, the Silver Surfer became a hero, and a valuable ally to the Fantastic Four.

As the character has only appeared once in live action, that being Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer, there are plenty of stories Marvel can adapt for the hero. Still, with the studio being focused on building up their new Avengers team in the upcoming films and Disney+ shows, it is unlikely the Silver Surfer will appear any time soon.
