10 Biggest Flaws Of The 10 Highest-Grossing Movies Of 2014
6. The Dizzying Lack Of Focus - The Amazing Spider-Man 2
Box Office Gross: $708,982,323 It's very nearly impossible to recall the plot of The Amazing Spider-Man 2 with furrowing your brow: what, exactly, happened... and why? So whilst The Amazing Spider-Man feels like a masterpiece when compared to the likes of this follow-up, The Amazing Spider-Man 2 is pretty much another Spider-Man 3-sized disaster: the kind you imagined would never be allowed to happen again - especially via Sony. It wasn't just that there were far too many villains that ultimately killed this movie - there are countless, random subplots (most of them unnecessary), rendering The Amazing Spider-Man 2 frustrating in the same way as Iron Man 2: the filmmakers are so focused on world-building that the movie has no room to breathe. Scenes come and go without consequence; there's no urgency, and a complete lack of tension.
