Whenever I watch a movie that has an underwater scene where a character is forced to go for a significant amount of time without air, I always hold my breath for a little audience participation. You know how many times I've been able to last as long as the person on the screen? Not once. Within moments I'm always red-faced and gasping for oxygen while Arthur Curry is still submerged with no signs of needing air. And that's just sitting there. These guys are usually dodging bullets, swimming through fire, fighting off sharks while bleeding from various open wounds and trying to rescue some fair maiden all at the same time. I don't know that I've ever seen a realistic depiction of the human's capacity for withstanding a lack of oxygen in a movie. It's just another classic example of Hollywood teaching us that our heroes are incapable of dying. And they're not the only ones...
