10. The Vulture Being Liz's Dad
In Spider-Man: Homecoming, Peter Parker falls in love with one of his classmates, Liz Allen, but is too busy uncovering the mystery of some weapon dealers in the city to spend any time with her, or even attend their Academic Decathlon. Little did he, or audiences, know that Liz Allen's father was actually The Vulture, the head of the whole operation.
His identity as her father is only shown when Peter is invited to her house for his school's homecoming dance. The reveal when The Vulture, the villain we've been following for the whole film, opens the door to Peter, after fighting him a short time earlier, is truly shocking.
Peter Immediately recognizes him as The Vulture, but, since Peter was in his Spider-Man suit during the battle, Adrian doesn't connect the dots at first. When he does, he gives Peter an ultimatum to stop his investigations forever and have a nice night with Liz, or else. Of course, Peter declines and ends up stopping The Vulture, after which Liz moves away to Oregon.
The Vulture being Liz's father was a totally unexpected twist and helped make the character's death much more impactful.
