10 Biggest Missed Opportunities In MCU History

4. No Movies Set During The Blip

Avengers: Endgame boldly implemented a five-year time skip in which half of all life in the universe was snapped out of existence by Thanos, and yet to date we've not actually had any MCU movies set during The Blip itself.

The storytelling and world-building potential of a film set between Infinity War and Endgame speaks for itself, digging deep into the psychological implications of the survivors who lived through such a traumatic event, as would surely create a power vacuum between the remaining heroes and villains.

As brilliant as Endgame is, setting a movie or two between Infinity War and Endgame that truly depicted the gravity of the Blip would've only enhanced the audience's investment in seeing it undone.

It also would've been the perfect time to focus on introducing new heroes amid the chaos of the new world order, all while many of the Avengers were plausibly out of commission.

Again, Endgame doesn't really suffer for this, but considering how the Blip would've turned society totally upside down, it's a shame how little it's been explored in either MCU movies or Disney+ series.

With rumours that the upcoming Secret Invasion might be set during the Blip, hopefully it might finally deliver a deep dive into the experience of living through such a hellish period.
