10 Biggest Mistakes Made By MCU Heroes

Avengers Infinity War Thor Thanos
Marvel Studios

The stakes were incomprehensibly high when Thor confronted Thanos during the Battle of Wakanda. The Titan had finally obtained all six Infinity Stones, and was ready to wipe out half the universe. Thor’s sudden arrival seemed to save the day when all hope had been lost, as he sent Stormbreaker hurtling into Thanos’ chest, overpowering the completed Infinity Gauntlet in the process.

However, Thor’s decision to draw out Thanos’ death and make the Titan suffer proved to be a dreadful error when Thanos snapped his fingers and decimated the universe.

By choosing to prioritise vengeance over saving lives, Thor enabled Thanos to completed his murderous mission. In terms of consequences, they don’t come bigger than this!

That said, it’s hard to be too harsh on Thor. He had single-handedly turned the tide during the battle, having put himself through an agonising ordeal to create Stormbreaker, and he came closer to killing Thanos in Infinity War than the rest of the Avengers put together.

Thor’s judgement was also severely impacted by trauma, since he’d just witnessed the deaths of his brother, one of his closest friends and half of his people. Given that he had every reason to want Thanos to suffer, Thor deserves some forgiveness.
