4. Orlando Bloom May Return For Pirates Of The Caribbean 5

After critics gave up on the Pirates of the Caribbean franchise after the third film, At World's End, Disney decided to jettison most of the film's cast, including Orlando Bloom and Keira Knightley, and start quasi-fresh for the fourth film, On Stranger Tides. Despite solidifying its place in the billion dollar club, On Stranger Tides didn't fare much better than its precedessors, and is considered one of the worst films in the series. So, it should come as no surprise that Disney is now back tracking a bit, and looking into the possibility of bringing Bloom back for another adventure on the high seas in the upcoming fifth installment of the series, Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales. Bloom's character Will Turner, a blacksmith-turned-pirate-turned-Davy Jones replacement, could easily come back for another outing. Plus, with the last Hobbit film on the horizon, Bloom's schedule for the next few years appears to be wide open. Bloom is certainly interested in returning, and said the following during a panel at Oz Comic Con this week:
"There have certainly been some discussions about it and I'm open to it. That whole experience working with Johnny (Depp) and (director) Gore (Verbinski) was really amazing for me. I had a great time working with Johnny, one of the reasons I jumped at the opportunity (to be in the first Pirates) was because Johnny was involved. I was such a massive fan of Johnny Depp growing up so to get up close and personal to Johnny and see how he worked as an actor was just a massive gift."
Directed by Joachim Ronning and Espen Sandberg, Pirates 5 is scheduled to set sail on July 7, 2017, a decade after we last saw Bloom in At World's End. let's just pray that Disney doesn't decide to use the same age-defying CGI they tried giving him when playing Legolas in the Hobbit movies (and you thought Smaug was scary looking!)
