4. Joseph Gordon-Levitt Producing Sandman For DC

Sandman A few weeks ago I wrote a post about comic book films stuck in development hell that are never going to get made, and as it turns out, I may have been wrong about one of them. A few weeks ago David S. Goyer signed a one-look deal with Warner Bros., which solidifies his place at the company and gives him a considerable amount of pull when it comes to adapting DC properties for the screen. He immediately turned his sights to Sandman, a project the studio has been trying to adapt for years. At the time the news broke, it was cited that he had Joseph Gordon-Levitt in mind, though it was unclear what role Levitt would have in the production. On Tuesday JGL himself confirmed his involvement in Sandman through his Twitter account: https://twitter.com/hitRECordJoe/status/412761968022282240 Internet commenters everywhere began writing stories with headlines like 'Joseph Gordon-Levitt To Star in and Direct Sandman!' though at this point he's only attached to produce. Which was, again, confirmed via Twitter: https://twitter.com/hitRECordJoe/status/412835605253337088 Chances are, he will most likely star and possibly direct (his directorial debut, Don Jon, was released earlier this year), and perhaps he's just waiting to hear official confirmation, or for production to begin moving forward, before announcing the news.
