4. The CW Renews 5 Shows, Including Arrow and Vampire Diaries
The CW may not be television's most successful or most-watched network, but it certainly has its fanbase, which has only grown thanks to the inclusion of shows starring DC comics characters. The network announced on Monday that they've given early renewals for five of their most successful shows. The lucky winners are The Vampire Diaries, Arrow, Supernatural, The Originals, and Reign. The Vampire Diaries, now in its fifth season, is still the networks' highest-rated show in all key demographics, so its renewal was a sure thing. Arrow is equally as successful, being the most-watched drama with 3.9 million viewers a week. Now, that may be a bit low when compared to other shows, but the CW has given renewals to shows with far less (like Arrow's superhero predecessor, Smallville). Supernatural's return means it will go into its
tenth season (remember when the creators talked about ending it at five?), while The Originals and Reign mark the first new shows to get a shot at another season.
