2. Jai Courtney Cast As Kyle Reese In Terminator: Genesis
After being placed on the shortlist of actors in consideration for the role of Kyle Reese in Thor: The Dark World director Alan Taylor's Terminator reboot, Jai Courtney has now landed the coveted role. The A Good Day To Die Hard Star beat out Boyd Holbrook (Hatfields & McCoys) for the part, and will be joining the likes of Arnold Schwarzenegger, Emilia Clarke as Sarah Connor, and Jason Clarke as John Connor. Terminator: Genesis will be the fifth film in the franchise, and is being planned as a reboot for the series. After several years of legal troubles, the production is finally underway and has been given a July 1, 2015 release date. Courtney has some big shoes to fill, following up Michael Biehn's portrayal of Reese in the original Terminator, and Anton Yelchin's younger Reese in Terminator Salvation. He's become a bit of a rising star over the last couple years, and this will be his highest profile project to date. Like most of these casting choices, reaction has been a bit of a mixed bag, but Courtney should do fine in the role.
