3. Deathlok Headed To Agents Of SHIELD
When J. August Richards first appeared in the pilot for Agents of SHIELD, fans wildly speculated that he was secretly playing Luke Cage. That theory was of course proven false when it was revealed that he was simply Mike Peterson, a man treated with the Extremis virus by the secretive Centipede organization. His actual role was a bit disappointing, but now fans have something even more exciting to look forward to.
Marvel announced on Thursday that Mike Peterson's story arc through the first season was in fact an origin story, for none other than Deathlok:
Transformed into the cybernetic solider against his will, Mike Peterson (J. August Richards) must struggle to find the man in the machine. With a high-tech eye that allows him to see through walls, super strength and increased speed courtesy of a cybernetic leg, will Deathlok fight alongside the Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. or against them?
Deathlok will make his debut in episode 13, which airs on February 4th. Will the fan-favorite characters' inclusion in the show be enough to bring some fans back? Only time will tell, but Marvel better pick up the pace soon if they want their first foray on the small screen to end in success rather than defeat.
