When asked whether or not he'd ever come back for another Jason Bourne flick, actor Matt Damon - who played the character across the span of three hit movies - said this:
"We have ridden that horse as far as we can. I think in terms of another one, the story of this guy's search for his identity is over, because he's got all the answers, so there's no way we can trot out the same character."
True to Hollywood's reputation for perseverance, though, Bourne 5 is very much happening - against the odds (and all logic), the movie is scheduled for release in late 2016, with Damon back in the saddle as the character of the title (no Jeremy Renner this time, though, which is a shame; a badass team-up movie would have been pretty darn awesome). The biggest mystery of all, then, concerns the actual movie itself: how, given the closure brought on by The Bourne Ultimatum - not to mention Damon's comments that they'd taken Jason Bourne as far as humanly possible - will a fifth movie logically manifest itself? Given that almost no information has been revealed with regards to the movie's plot, save for a mention of some London-based action and a "post-Snowden" world, Bourne 5 has essentially left fans in the dark.
