Don't think that Roland Emmerich won't do it all over again, people! The apocalypse-obsessed director has already confirmed that this belated sequel - sure to be one of 2016's biggest movies, given that it stars Jeff Goldblum reprising one of his most famous filmic roles - will feature a rebuilt White House. And the filmmaker even teased at its chances of being blown to smithereens when he recently opened up on the subject:
"Oh yes. There has to be a White House. You know, its part of the myth. Will I destroy it? Will I not destroy it?
Going by his purposely vague words, there's a serious possibility that audiences could be looking at another White House explosion come 2016. Though, of course, there's also a big likelihood that Emmerich will go down a totally different route - you know, one that toys with our emotions and subverts our expectations, because this is the 21st century. Whatever happens, the mystery of all it has only served to increase excitement levels!
