5. How Will The Joker Fit Into The Story? - Suicide Squad

When Suicide Squad was first announced, most people naturally assumed that the Joker - played this time by Oscar-winning actor Jared Leto - would be part of the titular team. That he'd end up "tasked" with the other characters to take on an incredibly dangerous mission. Later on, it became increasingly apparent that the Clown Prince of Gotham wouldn't actually find himself positioned as a member of the squad at all; he'd be outside of the main group, away from them. As a result, the Joker's role and place in the movie remains something of a mystery. Nobody has any real clue or idea as to what purpose or function the villain will serve in the story aside from as a prominent fixture in Harley Quinn's sordid past. Whilst some rumours have him locked in a cell for much of the film's runtime, some others suggest that the Joker is the "target" that the Suicide Squad are sent after.
