10 Biggest Questions Surrounding Upcoming Movies

9. When Will The Title Characters Meet? (Shazam: Fury Of The Gods/Black Adam)

Spider Man 3
Warner Bros. Pictures

Dwayne Johnson's Black Adam movie has been a long time coming. The actor was officially cast in the role in - brace yourself - September 2014, meaning that eight years will have passed by the time the film releases in 2022.

Seeing the ridiculously-buff Johnson play a superhero is certainly an exciting prospect, but that isn't the main reason why Black Adam's cinematic debut is so highly anticipated. Rather, the one big question that's even more tantalising is... when will we see the character clash with his arch-nemesis, Shazam?

We know that they're going to meet at some point, but the decision was made to establish them both in standalone movies first. That might rule out a Shazam appearance in Black Adam - the filmmakers probably won't want Johnson to share the spotlight in his first movie - and with Shazam: Fury Of The Gods director David F. Sandberg saying that Black Adam won't be in the film, it's not clear when these two titans will finally clash.

The likely scenario here is that we'll get a Batman V Superman-style "versus movie" in a couple of years, but at the same time, it's not unreasonable to speculate that we might see a surprise Black Adam cameo in Shazam 2's post-credits slot.

He has been writing and video editing for 10+ years, and first got a taste for content creation after making his own Doctor Who trailers and uploading them to YouTube (they're admittedly a bit rusty by today's standards). If you need someone to recite every Doctor Who episode in order or to tell you about the making of 1988's Remembrance of the Daleks, Danny is the person to ask.
