7. Helga Hufflepuff's Role In Hogwarts

Hogwarts was founded by the four finest witches and wizards of the age - Godric Gryffindor, Rowena Ravenclaw, Helga Hufflepuff, and Salazar Slytherin - who, aside from the houses in their name, would each go on to leave their own unique footprint on the castle.

Gryffindor, for example, was the one to enchant the Sorting Hat to sort students, and was most in favour of allowing muggle-borns into the school. Slytherin, who left due to his preference for pure-bloods and disagreements with the other founders, created the Chamber of Secrets. Ravenclaw, meanwhile, designed the ever-changing floor plan of the school, and was the one who found the location and came up with the name for it.

Helga Hufflepuff's contributions, on the other hand, are limited to the kitchens, where she introduced the house-elf workforce and left behind a number of recipes. While important, it doesn't feel like an intrinsic part of the castle in the ways the others do, and there are theories she also created the Room of Requirement, which would fit, but her footprint is largely unknown.
