10 Bill Murray Movies You Should Throw Out The Window
5. Larger Than Life
Murray has handled some tough audiences in his time, but 1996's Larger Than Life took the biscuit. The whole biscuit factory as it goes, his co-star being a food-hoovering elephant. As motivational speaker Jack Corcoran he discovered a weighty family inheritance. He didn't realize the weight was of the crushing variety, belonging to his flappy-eared new pal Vera. The premise could only have been dreamt up at a movie exec spitballing marathon, and Murray signing up was a surprise. The promotional image there suggests the level of desperation he may have been experiencing wringing comedic potential out of the scenario. Even odder developments happened in the supporting cast, with Janeane Garofalo joining the "fun" as a zookeeper. Murray as an elephant wrangler. Garofalo as an animal guru. Is there any way in which this film could not have died on its backside like a panda with a cholesterol issue...?
