Well, this was obviously going to be on the list at some point, wasn't it? Billie's most popular and iconic role to date has been as Rose Tyler in Doctor Who and her portrayal of the Time Lord's coveted companion won her international acclaim as well as a string of prestigious accolades including the National Television Award for Most Popular Actress two years in a row. As the show's first 21st century sidekick, Billie is widely credited for contributing to the franchise's subsequent success and, having appeared in a grand total of 35 episodes to date, it's no surprise that she's made countless returns since her initial heartbreaking departure at the end of Series 2. She stepped back into the shoes of everybody's favourite shop girl turned Earth defender for a three episode stint in Series 4 before bidding her cherished co-star David Tennant a short but sweet farewell in his swansong adventure, The End of Time. Most recently, she contributed to the 50th anniversary festivities by making a special appearance in The Day of the Doctor and she has since become a reputable regular at sci-fi conventions around the world. All hail Rose Tyler!
