10 Bizarre Events That Took Place In First Drafts Of Famous Movies

4. The Matrix - Neo Gives Agent Smith The Finger

the-matrix Here's another movie that defined the 90s. The Matrix is one of the best movies in the genre and it managed to deal with some heavy themes that other movies hadn't dealt with in the past in such a mainstream way. It made every single one of us paranoid and asking if what we were living was real or just a fake world The Matrix created for us. With cool scenes and amazing story, The Matrix will leave its mark in the world. While the original script was pretty much the same, many things were left out of the movie. For example the dialogue of the film needed some work. And by some work we mean it needed to be completely rewritten. And sure, the some of the scenes in the script would have been pretty cool (It had more action scenes) but the biggest problem the script had was the end of the movie. At first, the end of the movie remained pretty much the same, Agent Smith manages to kill Neo and proceeds to go into the elevator, and sure enough Neo rises comes back from the dead and discovers his new found powers. However, instead of killing Agent Smith, he just gives him the finger. And instead of shooting Neo again, Smith just screams and punches the elevator's door. How much it would have changed the film? Like many other entries on this list, this would have taken all the serious things out of the movie. Not only this ending fails because it makes no sense, but also because it lacks the coolness the original ending was. We just saw Neo coming back from the dead and finding out that he's the chosen one. And what does he do? He just behaves like your typical high school bully and just flips the bird to Agent Smith. Thankfully, they realized how ridiculously stupid this ending was, and they decided to change it for a more action packed one that ended up that part of the story in a satisfying way. Although watching something like that would have been really hilarious.
