9. Dom Names His Son Brian After His Stay At Home Mate - Fate Of The Furious
In the wake of the tragic passing of Paul Walker, the Fast franchise was put in a pretty tough position.
With Brian O'Connor being such a significant part of the Toretto extended familia, Vin Diesel and the gang opted to have his character drive off into the sunset rather than be killed off during the seventh instalment in the series.
And one movie on from that emotional farewell, Dom would then opt to name his son after his pal who was now enjoying life away from the high-speed chases and increasingly insane missions as a father himself.
However, the more you think about this touching tribute to the late Walker's contribution to the series over the years, the harder it is to understand within the Fast universe.
In the Fast franchise, Brian is simply a pal who decided to step away from the dangerous lifestyle and protect his family.
So, why did Dom decide to name his kid after him instead of the many other friends who are regularly found risking their lives to save their leader and the world? Or one of the other "family" members who had actually died on-screen?
The real-world answer is because the filmmakers were respectfully saluting their fallen brother, of course. But wouldn't it have been a little less bizarre to simply name the latest Toretto family member "Paul" instead then?
