10 Blatantly Unfinished Movies (That Were Released Anyway)

3. Wagons East

Cats Movie
TriStar

Another film whose production was troubled by the loss of one of its stars, Wagons East unfortunately did not opt for the tasteful route taken by Dark Blood’s producers.

Where the former film opted to leave the production unfinished only to later recover footage and put together a cut as a collectable curio for film buffs, the creators of Wagons East decided to release their unfinished cut in the hopes of fooling the paying public.

The problem?

Well, the comedy western could probably have been as fondly remembered as any of its star’s many funny efforts such as Armed and Dangerous and Who’s Harry Crumb—except that said star, hulking funnyman John Candy, died during its production.

Which lead the filmmakers to reuse footage from his early scenes throughout the film, a less than subtle solution which made the repurposed footage immediately obvious to viewers. The tasteless tact wasn’t worth the effort, either, with the film failing at the box office.
