10 Blockbuster Stars We Don't Give Enough Credit As Actors

9. Milla Jovovich

When most people think of Milla Jovovich, they think of the strikingly beautiful Ukrainian actress who starred in films like The Fifth Element and the Resident Evil franchise. She's known more for her physically-oriented action work than any acting abilities that she might possess. As long as she keeps kicking butt in skin tight outfits, most audiences are happy. But despite her being pigeon-holed as an action girl, she's made a few interesting choices throughout her career that have given brief glimpses at an emotionally complex, talented actress. She brought a level of vulnerability to the role of Mildred Harris, one of Charlie Chaplin's young wives (he had a veritable army of them), in the film Chaplin. She was only 17, but she showed an innate talent far beyond her years. More recently, she appeared in the indie film Dummy alongside Adrien Brody. It's a film about a young wannabe ventriloquist (Brody), and Jovovich plays his angry, impulsive best friend Fanny. She brings so much energy to the role, and she inhabits the emotional heart of the film with a raw, unpracticed air.
