10 Blockbuster Stars We Don't Give Enough Credit As Actors

7. Sam Worthington

Although Sam Worthington's career had a rather inauspicious start (he tagged along to an audition for Australia's National Institute of Dramatic Art to provide moral support for a friend -- he was accepted, his friend was not), but it's certainly developed impressively enough. He gained critical acclaim for his work on the stage in his native Australia, and quickly graduated to film and television. Nowadays, of course, we know Sam Worthington for his work in the groundbreaking Avatar, as well as more traditional blockbuster epics such as Clash of the Titans and Terminator Salvation. But we would be remiss to forget that he did get his start in a prestigious acting school, and we hope that soon he'll get a project that will allow him to really show what he's capable of as an actor. He has a number of films in the pipelines at the moment, including the next three announced Avatar films (slated to be released in 2016, 2017, and 2018, respectfully) and Kidnapping Freddy Heineken, where he'll star alongside Anthony Hopkins and Jim Sturgess.
