10 Blockbuster Stars We Don't Give Enough Credit As Actors
6. Bruce Willis
Few actors have names that are so universally associated with the action film genre as Bruce Willis. If he never made another film after Die Hard, if he just washed his hands of the business and walked away, he would still be an icon. That performance alone puts him on a short list for best action star of all time. And sure, he's milked the stoic, no-nonsense character trope for as long as Hollywood will let him. But why not? When you've got something that works, you cling to it until they pry it from your cold dead fingers. And the Bruce Willis image? It works. But let's not forget the steps he's made out of the box over the years. He gave a pretty solid performance as a (SPOILER ALERT) recently departed psychologist in M. Night Shyamalan's The Sixth Sense. And in recent years, he's displayed a more lighthearted, comedic sensibility, playing against type in films like Moonrise Kingdom. Plus, you know, he did the voice of Spike in Rugrats Go Wild, which is pretty much the definition of range.
