1. Jesse Eisenberg's Performance As Lex Luthor Will Be Critically Acclaimed
There's an absolutely huge amount of negative expectation surrounding Zack Snyder's upcoming Batman V Superman: Dawn Of Justice, and it's easy to see why. For a start, Snyder has a reputation for helming films that are all style and no substance. In fact, the previous film in the franchise, Man Of Steel, was criticized for this very reason, specifically the rampant destruction of Metropolis which takes place at the close of the movie. Then there's the fact that the trailers appear to have spoiled massive chunks of plot, and the slightly ridiculous number of characters (Wonder Woman, Aquaman, Cyborg are confirmed to be showing up too). One thing that has wrongly been targeted for criticism, however, is Jesse Eisenberg's performance as Lex Luthor, which will almost certainly be great. Eisenberg has already publicly voiced his confusion about the criticism, saying it feels like some people are occasionally ready to get angry at me for the part they haven't seen me play yet. It's bewildering. But Eisenberg has repeatedly proved himself to be a strong, versatile performer. His role as Mark Zuckerberg in David Fincher's The Social Network, for example, bubbled with the kind of underlying rage that's almost certainly a part of Lex Luthor's portrayal. Not only that, but in the trailers we've only seen Luthor with hair which makes it very obvious we've only seen one, early half of Eisenberg's performance. And to top it all of? Eisenberg himself claims that the scene which involves Luthor's hair loss is the greatest scene that he has ever shot in his entire career.
