10 Bold Predictions For Future DC Movies

1. Batman Will Be Pushed To The Sidelines

Yes, I said it. The DCEU will not, and should not, revolve first and foremost around Batman. Why? Because we've been there and done that already, many times, and it's getting old. It's only been four years since Batman was last on the big screen. Since 1989's Batman, the character has been in six further movies, and Ben Affleck is the fifth actor to play the role in that time. Yes, all indications are that his version will stand apart from his predecessors in some interesting ways - but the most interesting thing about it, ultimately, is that he will share the screen with Superman and Wonder Woman. Is there really that much more we can take from him as a solo character? Regardless of any misgivings some viewers may have had with Man Of Steel (and I include myself there), Henry Cavill at least brought us a fresh take on the character. And consider the number of characters we're soon going to see in live action for the first time: Wonder Woman, The Flash, Aquaman. Surely these are the ones who warrant further exploration on screen, not the already over-familiar Dark Knight. Ben Affleck's Batman will still be around, no doubt. He'll almost certainly get his solo movie too, which will most likely be great. But will he be the centre of attention in the DCEU? I don't think so. Not when the opportunity is there to give the audience something genuinely new. What do you think of these predictions for the future of the DC movie universe? Got any predictions of your own?
