10 Brilliant Details You Completely Missed In Superhero Movies
6. Thor And Captain America Both Understandably Catch Mjolnir In Different Ways - Avengers: Endgame
When it comes to memorable superhero movie moments, it's safe to say Captain America shocking cinemas all around the planet by suddenly proving exactly how worthy he truly is, and wielding the mighty Mjolnir in Avengers: Endgame, ranks as one of the finest we've ever seen.
Yet, there is actually a subtle detail in this uber popular and regularly replayed clip which even the most passionate of MCU fans have completely missed.
Throughout the many films Thor has called upon his powerful hammer, you'll notice that the God of Thunder tends to catch the weapon with an outstretched arm. This is because he is well aware that the hammer will stop once it reaches his hand. However, Steve Rogers is used to catching a shield which recoils when it returns back to him. So, when Cap calls Mjolnir back to his hand for the very first time mid-fight with Thanos, the patriotic hero can be seen cushioning the arrival of the weapon.
This habit was clearly a tough one to shake as Cap continued to catch the powerful object this way for the remainder of the flick. In all fairness, though, no one makes receiving a hammer look quite as impressive as Mr. Rogers.
