10 Brilliant Details You Completely Missed In Superhero Movies

2. Pan-African Flag Hiding In Plain Sight - Black Panther

Black Panther was understandably seen as a cultural phenomenon when it took the world by storm in 2018.

Instead of the usual and now tired tale of a white American superhero saving the day, we instead had a film centred around a mostly Black cast with a great deal of the story being set in the fictional African country of Wakanda. Also, the film regularly embraced African culture through the costumes on show and the language adopted by Wakanda, among many other things.

However, one subtle tribute to Pan-Africanism which was easily missed by many came in the form of the colour of the leading characters' attire at different stages in the flick.

During the club scene in South Korea, T'Challa, Nakia and Okoye are decked in black, green and red, respectively. These colours are significant as they are the only three present on the Pan-African flag. These colours are also on show when the three are suited up for battle.

For a film which largely focused on the idea of uniting people of African descent around the world, it only seems right that Pan-Africanism was celebrated in such a cool way.
