10 Brilliant Horror Movie Monsters You Were Completely Unprepared For

6. Deborah Logan, The Taking of Deborah Logan

Jack Brooks: Monster Slayer
Millennium Entertainment

No relation to Pelham 123, Deborah Logan is an ageing Alzheimer's sufferer who acts as the tragic focus of 2014's intense indie horror effort The Taking of Deborah Logan.

This film starts out as a pretty standard possession flick. The filmmakers use the found footage format to give viewers glimpses of what may be a demonic presence in Deborah, but could just as easily be explained away by her worsening mental state.

However, unlike most possession horror, by the time the completely unpredictable end of this chilling, inventive flick comes around, Deborah proves far more monster than any crab-walking, head-spinning twelve year old could ever hope to be.

In what must be one of the new millennium's greatest WTF scares, poor old Deborah swings open her mouth late in the flick and consumes a human head with a snake-like drop-jaw, and the audience joins her by dropping their own jaws in sheer shock at the audacious monster reveal.

Little old Deborah... Who would have thought?
